Jauharabad Sugar Mills Limited (formerly Kohinoor Sugar Mills Limited) was incorporated under the Corporate Law Authority now Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan in the name of “Kohinoor Sugar Mills Limited” and is a Company incorporated under the Companies Ordinance, 1984 since 1968 at Jauharabad, District Khushab and in August, 2014 was renamed as “Jauharabad Sugar Mills Limited”. The Company is involved in the business of production of Sugar and allied products i.e. molasses, bagasse and mud etc. The Company is a public limited company with an avowed object to contribute to the national economy and exchequer in addition to the provision of the job opportunities to the indigenous community as is evident from the fact that a large number of families from the indigenous community derive their sustenance and livelihood directly or indirectly from the economic activities appurtenant to the Jauharabad Sugar Mills Limited. The sugar mill namely “Joharabad Sugar Mills” was firstly constructed and established on (BOT) by the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) in collaboration with Thal Development Authority (TDA) established under the Thal Development Authority Act, 1949 as a measure of speedy development of the area in accordance with the object of the TDA. Subsequently, Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) sold the mill to SaigolGroup, thereto the Company was renamed to Koh-i-Noor Sugar Mills Limited in 1955. The current administration took over the management of Koh-i-Noor Sugar Mill Limited in the year of 2013 and changed the name of the Company as Jauharabad Sugar Mills Limited.
